BasicISP Customer Privacy Policy
Rev. 6/08
We Value Your Privacy
To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information
practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected
and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage
and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested. This
privacy statement covers the site www.BasicISP.net. Because we want to demonstrate
our commitment to our user's privacy, we have agreed to disclose our privacy practices.
Information that we do collect
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the BasicISP.net
website. The types of personal information collected may include: Name, Address,
Email address, Phone number, Credit/Debit Card information, etc.
The Way We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide about yourself only to complete your request,
fulfill our service to you, send communications, provide customer support and authenticate
referrals for our Referral program.
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required
by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or
comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web
site.
Though we may use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services,
these companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information
for any secondary purposes. We use return email addresses to answer the email we
receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with
outside parties. We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design
our website and to share with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser
that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number
of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we would not
disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
If your personally identifiable information changes, you must update it by making
the change on our member information page or by emailing our Customer Support at
support@BasicISP.net. You may also call
us at (800) 456-3118 or by postal mail at BasicISP, PO Box 511, Mount Vernon,
OH 43050.
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided
to us online with third party organizations in ways unrelated to the ones described
above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit
such unrelated uses.
Affiliate Program
If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our service, we
will ask you for your friend's name and email address only after they have become
BasicISP customers.
Our Communications to You
Newsletters
We may periodically distribute a user newsletter to all of our users. Out of respect
for our users privacy we provide a way to opt-out of these communications. Please
see the Choice section.
Service Announcements
On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement.
For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for scheduled maintenance
we might send users an email. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications,
though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not
promotional in nature.
Customer Services
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in
regards to issues relating to their account we reply via email or phone, in accordance
with the user's wishes.
If your personal information is ever collected by a third party that is not our
agent/service provider, you will be notified so you can make an informed choice
as to whether or not to share your information with that party.
Bulletin Boards / Chat Rooms
Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information
online - for example on classifieds, message boards, chats or through e-mail - that
information can be collected and used by others. In short, by posting personal information
online that is publicly accessible, you may receive unsolicited messages from other
parties in return.
If you use a bulletin board or chat room on this site, you should be aware that
any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected,
or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited
messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you
choose to submit in these forums.
Cookies and Log Files
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about
the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information
while on our site. We use persistent cookies. A persistent cookie is a small text
file stored on the user's hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent
cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions. We use
cookies for marketing purposes to determine how users arrive at our site. If users
reject the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that
the user may be limited in some areas of our site.
Like most standard website servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol
(IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages,
platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer
the site, track users movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information
for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable
information.
Our Commitment To Data Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. When you enter sensitive
information (such as credit card number and/or social security number) on our registration
page, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information
submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission
over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore,
while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information,
we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you have any question about security
on our website, you can send an email to us at
support@BasicISP.net.
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required
by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or
comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web
site.
Our Commitment to Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason,
we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know
are under 18, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 18.
How You Can Access or Correct Your Information
You can access your personally identifiable information that we collect online and
maintain it by contacting customer service by telephone at (800) 456-3118. We use
this procedure to better safeguard your information. You can correct factual errors
in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly
shows error. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable
steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
How To Contact Us
Should you have other questions or concerns about these privacy policies; please
send us an email at support@BasicISP.net.

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy
statement so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use
it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information
in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
