Email Tech Support - Outlook Express for Macintosh

1) Click on the Tools menu, and then select Accounts.

The Accounts window will appear.

2) In the Accounts window, select your BasicISP.net email configuration and click Edit.

The Edit Account window will appear.

3) On the Account Settings tab, verify that all the server settings are correct:

Acct Name: your email address.

Name: your name.
Email: your email address.

Account ID: the first part of your email address (before @).
POP: mail.basicisp.net
Password: your basicisp.net password.
Save Password: checked.

SMTP: mail.basicisp.net

NOTE: FOR ALL OTHER DIAL-UP COMPANIES, THE USERNAME NEEDS TO BE THE FULL EMAIL ADDRESS (EXAMPLE@COMPANY.COM)

Next, click on the button under Sending Mail that says "Click here for advanced sending options."

4) The only item that should be checked here is "SMTP server requires authentication," and underneath this you will want "Use same settings as incoming mail server" to be selected.

5) Verify that SMTP server requires authentication is marked, along with Use same settings as incoming mail server.
