Email Setup Instructions - Mac Mail
Macintosh OSX contains it's own email client. This version of their email program is full featured and convienient for single as well as multiple user accounts. This set up information applies to OSX 10.2 Jaguar for Macintosh.

To create a new Basic ISP email account using Apple's Mail program, Start the Mail program, and the select Preferences from the Mail menu.

Click the Accounts icon and then Click the Add Account button. (if you wish to edit an existing account, click Edit instead) This will bring up the new or existing account information form.

Complete the information as shown, substituting your information in place of our fictious user John Doe.
Account Type: POP
Decsription: Basic ISP
Email Address: {Your Username}@basicisp.net
Full Name: {Your Name}
Incoming Mail Server: mail.basicisp.net
User Name: {Your Username: Same as your e-mail}
Password: {Your Password}
When finished, click the Options button to setup SMTP authentication and finalize your configuration.

Complete the information as shown, substituting your information in place of our fictious user John Doe.
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.basicisp.net
Server Port: 25
Authentication: Password
User Name: {Your Username: same as your e-mail}
Password: {Your Password}
When finished, click OK followed by OK and finally click the red close button to exit the Preferences utility. Your Basic ISP email account is now set-up on the Apple Mail program.
