Email Setup Instructions - Netscape 7 for Macintosh

Netscape is a browser that contains it's own email client. This version of their email program is full featured and convienient for a single user and now supports multiple user accounts. This set up information applies to Netscape version 7 for Macintosh OSX .

Start Netscape.
Click the "Mail" icon near the upper left hand corner of the Netscape window.

The Email window for Netscape will appear.
In the menu to the left, click "Local folders" and then click "Create a new account".
|

|
|
The New Account Setup window will appear.
Make sure to click the radio button for "Email account" and then click "Next" to continue.
|

|
|
The Identity window will appear. Enter the following information:
Your Name: John Doe
Email Address: johndoe@basicisp.net
Click "Next" to continue.

|
|
The Server information window will appear.
Make sure that "POP" is selected and enter the incoming mail server name:
Incoming Server: mail.basicisp.net
Click "Next" to continue.

|
|
The User Name window will appear.
Enter your username.
for example johndoe@basicisp.net
Click "Next" to continue.
|
|
|
|
The Account name window will appear.
Enter a name by which to refer to this particular connection. We suggest "Basic ISP Account", you may want something else more personal.
Click "Next" to continue.

|
The Congratulations window will appear.
This is where you check to see that you entered the information correctly. If you see a mistake, you can use the back button to fix the problem and continue back.
Click "Finish" to continue.

|
You have successfully configured a Basic ISP account for your use on Netscape.
|
