Email Set-up Instructions - Opera 7.23 and 7.50

1) In Opera, click on the Mail menu, and then select New Account from the list.

The New Account Wizard will appear.

(Please note that the steps for Opera 7.23 and Opera 7.5 are the same, the windows just have a slightly different appearnce)

2) In the wizard, select Regular E-mail (POP).

Click Next.

3) In the Real Name field enter your First and Last Names.  In the Email address field please enter your full Basic ISP Email address.  Organization can be left blank.

Click Next.

4) The Login Name will be your email address.  The password will be your normal Basic ISP password.

5) In the Incoming Server field enter mail.basicisp.net.

In the Outgoing Server field enter the same.

Use secure connection and leave messages on server should remain unchecked.

Click Finish.

There is still one more setting to configure.

6) Back in the main Opera window, click on the Mail menu and select Manage accounts.

The Manage Accounts window will appear.

7) Highlight your Basic ISP configuration and click Edit.

8) In the Account Properties window, click on the Servers tab.

9) On the Servers tab locate the Outgoing SMTP server section.  Verify that the username is displayed correctly, and that Secure Connection (TLS) is not checked.

10) Your email configuration is now complete.  To return to the inbox and check your mail, click OK in the Manage Accounts window.
