PeoplePC started in 1999 as an offer of a new PC with Internet service for $24.95 per month with a 3 year contract. In 2001, PeoplePC began to offer stand alone Internet service without the PC. Since then, PeoplePC has been acquired by EarthLink. PeoplePC currently offers accelerated dial up service for $10.95 per month with a 12 month commitment.
